CBD Oil Tinctures
Designed to be used sublingually, oil tinctures offer a pure dose.
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is just one of over 100 unique compounds called cannabinoids that are found in cannabis plants. CBD is present throughout the stalk and flowers of various types of cannabis plants, including hemp and marijuana, and extraction is easy due to the large quantities in which it naturally occurs.
Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is non-psychoactive and doesn’t elicit a “high” feeling when consumed.
How does CBD work?
Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that produces its own cannabinoids and works to maintain balance. It consists of a complex network of neurotransmitters and receptors in the brain, central nervous system and peripheral nervous system (nerves throughout the body’s limbs and organs). The CBD you consume through products like CBD oils, capsules, gummies etc interact with this system.
Is CBD legal?
Since 2017, CBD produced using the hemp plant is legal to sell, buy and consume in the UK. Products much contain less than 0.2% THC, which is then purified to contain less than 1mg per dose.
At ReThink, everything we produce and sell is farmed from industrialised hemp and contains no THC, making each product 100% legal.
Will CBD get me “high”?
CBD is non-neurotoxic and non-psychoactive, so it does not make you “high” or intoxicated.
Are CBD products addictive?
As it contains no psychoactive qualities, CBD is not an addictive substance. We include no psychoactive cannabinoids in our Broad Spectrum CDB products.
Will CBD show on a drug test?
Pure CBD alone is not a substance that will cause failure on a drug test as it is no longer recognised as a prohibited substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Testing positive for cannabis means other cannabinoids are present in your system, particularly tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabinol (CBN), which (unliked CBD) are psychoactive compounds.
Though it is possible to ingest THC or CBN via usage of some CBD products when the extract contains trace amounts of these substances, our range of Broad Spectrum CBD has had the trace amounts of THC completely removed.
Can you overdose on CBD?
It is important to note that it is impossible to overdose on CBD. A case of this has never been reported, and CBD has been found safe for use by nearly everyone.
Are hemp and marijuana the same?
Though hemp and marijuana are both cannabis plants, it’s their composition that separates them. Marijuana, also known as cannabis indica, contains high levels of THC and low levels of CBD, and it is illegal.
Meanwhile, hemp, which is known as cannabis sativa, contains less than 0.3% THC. This is the plant used to make CBD oils, as well as a number of other products such as food, paper, rope and other goods.
Is hemp seed oil the same as CBD oil?
Though made from the same plant, hemp seed oil and CBD oil are not the same. No seeds are used in the process of harvesting CBD; instead, the oil is extracted from the flower.
Hemp seed oil is harvested by cold pressing the hemp plant seeds. Though the oil produced is rich in amino acids, trace minerals and other nutrients, it doesn’t contain CBD, terpenes or any other naturally occurring hemp cannabinoids.
Is hemp eco-friendly?
The hemp from which we harvest our CBD is a very environmentally friendly plant and can be used for just about anything. A single acre of hemp can produce the same amount of paper a year as four acres of trees. It consumes four times as much CO2 as trees do, and it has a short 12-14 week growing cycle, which makes it highly sustainable. It is surprisingly durable and can be used to make all types of composite panels, thermoplastics and plastic consumer products. Hemp products are also biodegradable, therefore better for our environment.
How much CBD should I take?
As effectiveness varies from person to person, there isn’t a definitive correct dosage for everyone. We recommend starting with a low dosage, with just a couple of drops a day and working your way up to find the one that’s right for you.
When should I take CBD?
We recommend integrating CBD into either your morning or bedtime routine.
What is the most effective way of taking CBD?
We offer a variety of ways to use CBD to suit everyone’s needs. Our oil tinctures are one of the fastest ways of introducing CBD into your body by dropping the desired amount directly under your tongue and holding it there for 2-3 minutes before swallowing. The longer you are able to hold it there, the more effective the result.
Which CBD product is right for me?
In terms of potency and dosages, we recommend starting your CBD journey with lower amounts and working towards an optimum dose that works best for you. At ReThink, we have a variety of products that differ in how the CBD is consumed, so you can choose the one that best suits you and your needs.
